Job Opening – Mechanic

The Downers Grove Sanitary District is seeking applicants for the position of full-time Mechanic now through Friday, Nov. 4, 2022. The Mechanic performs preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electromechanical machinery and equipment, vehicles, buildings, structures, and reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

We are currently seeking an entry level candidate for this position. The starting salary is $25.66 per hour.

Please note that the Mechanic must reside within a 30-minute travel time from the District’s Wastewater Treatment Center at 5003 Walnut Ave., Downers Grove, Illinois, and must either possess, or be able to obtain, an Illinois Class B Commercial Driver’s License with full air brakes and Tank endorsement. A successful candidate must comply with these requirements within six months of employment.
